Panda Cloud Cleaner From time to time there are always new malware variants that emerge. With its cloud-based Collective Intelligence technology, Panda Cloud Cleaner is claimed to be able to detect and eradicate malware that cannot be handled by other free Panda Cloud Cleaner antiviruses, the installation process is simple, lightweight does not contain advertisements, has a small file size, and is capable of performing scans quickly. Also equipped with a Trusted Boot to get rid of malware that is difficult to remove in the usual way.
There are two scan options provided by Panda Cloud Cleaner. Analyze all PC to check every file without exception and Analyze other elements to check files located in certain locations, for example on drive C or in several folders on drive D.
After the scan is complete, Panda Cloud Cleaner will display a scan result report. You can immediately click the Clean button to delete all files suspected of containing malware or do a review first by looking at what files Panda Cloud Cleaner thinks need to be removed.
Scan results are grouped into three categories, namely Malware & Pups Found, Unknown Files & Suspicious Policies, and System Cleaning. The arrow buttons located next to each category will display detailed scan results if you click them. You don’t need to click each arrow button because the contents of the report are the same.
Within the details of the scan results, you will be presented with several other categories such as Potentially Unwanted Programs, Broken Links, Suspicious Policies, Unknown Autorun Elements, and System Cleaning. You need to be careful in choosing what to delete. The reason is, that not all files that are detected are files that contain viruses. False alarms can happen.
Under the System Cleaning category, you can choose to clean Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer from temporary files, cookies, history, and sessions. Only temporary files are checked by default, others are not. If you do not want to re-login to every website, you should not check the cookies. Likewise for history if you don’t want to lose the list of web pages you have visited before.

Cons of Panda Cloud Cleaner
1. Internet Connection Dependency
Panda Cloud Cleaner relies on an internet connection to access its cloud-based malware detection and analysis capabilities. Users without a stable internet connection may experience limitations in Panda Cloud Cleaner’s functionality or may be unable to perform real-time scans and updates, reducing its effectiveness in offline environments.
2. Limited Offline Scanning Options
While Panda Cloud Cleaner excels in cloud-based malware detection, its offline scanning options may be limited compared to traditional antivirus solutions. Users may not have access to comprehensive offline scanning capabilities or may encounter restrictions on the types of malware that can be detected and removed without an internet connection.
3. Privacy and Data Collection Concerns
As a cloud-based security solution, Panda Cloud Cleaner may collect and transmit certain user data to its cloud servers for analysis and detection purposes. While Panda Security states that it prioritizes user privacy and anonymizes collected data, some users may have concerns about the privacy implications of cloud-based malware detection.
4. Potential False Positives
Panda Cloud Cleaner’s scanning engine may occasionally produce false positive results, flagging legitimate files or processes as malicious. While false positives are rare, they can lead to inconvenience and disruption for users, who may need to manually exclude or restore flagged items from quarantine.
5. Limited Support Resources
Panda Cloud Cleaner may lack comprehensive official documentation or user guides, relying primarily on community forums and online resources for support. While Panda Security provides some basic information and FAQs on its website, users seeking detailed explanations or troubleshooting assistance may find themselves reliant on third-party sources or trial-and-error experimentation.
Panda Cloud Cleaner is a useful tool for detecting and removing malware from Windows-based computers. Its cloud-based scanning technology ensures timely threat detection, and its user-friendly interface makes it accessible to a broad range of users. However, it is not a replacement for real-time antivirus protection, and users may need to complement it with a comprehensive antivirus solution for proactive security. Additionally, it is Windows-exclusive and may not meet the needs of users on other operating systems.
